Celebrations of any kind
Art has always been Ann’s thing!! As far back to some of her earliest memories, Ann always found herself building, sculpting or drawing something.
Ann has a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in painting and ceramics.
For years Ann managed art galleries in Taos and Santa Fe, New Mexico as well as in her current home town of Austin, Texas. Ann also sold art and not surprisingly many of her clients were southwestern artists.
Growing up along the Mexican border and in northern New Mexico solidified Ann’s great love for color.
Don’t tell anybody, but Ann says that some day she would secretly like to have a turquoise house with pink or orange shutters!!
Between growing up surrounded with Mexican Art, New Mexican landscapes, and southwestern art, how on earth could Ann possibly have found a love for soft muted paintings?
After years of raising children and not very creative jobs, around the year 2007 Ann finally found her way back to art and her love for painting.
Now, with the help of different art teachers and her beloved painting group Ann is exploring how to use color.
Each year Ann focuses on a new subject matter. Currently, as you can see by her featured painting, Ann’s focus is on animals and animal portraits.
In the past, Ann’s themes were gardens, flowers, antique chairs, agaves and she even did a series of historic Austin, Texas buildings.
